Brief Position Overview

The Media Reprographics Center (MRC) provides copying and mail services to faculty, staff, and students. Work is accepted from university departments or related organizations on campus and from recognized student organizations. The department sends out packages, flats, and letters through the United States Postal Service. They also process bulk mail, manage mail reports, and recharge print and postage costs to the appropriate department. Their primary goal is to provide consistent mail service and produce high quality products in a timely fashion.

Position Details

General Statement

The Media Reprographics Center (MRC) provides copying and mail services to faculty, staff, and students. Work is accepted from university departments or related organizations on campus and from recognized student organizations. The department sends out packages, flats, and letters through the United States Postal Service. They also process bulk mail, manage mail reports, and recharge print and postage costs to the appropriate department. Their primary goal is to provide consistent mail service and produce high quality products in a timely fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide excellent customer service to Faculty, Staff, and Students
2. Automated Duplicating/Job Management: Responsible for performing a variety of electronic and document printing and reproduction services including large format printing. Estimate job costs and time requirements for project work orders.
3. Mailroom services including bulk mailing for all departments, sorting mail, process postage, campus mail, mail machines.
4. Schedule employees and provide training to employees on the use of technical equipment and troubleshooting as needed.
5. Administrative/Financial: Collect, review, and prepare monthly invoices for billing as a result of Smart Card printing, and /or MRC services received.
6. Ensure that stock and equipment are inventoried annually, and secured. Maintain files and records for department as needed or required.
7. Collect bids and order equipment and supplies as needed.
8. Identify equipment in need of repair or replacement.

List any secondary duties assigned to this position:
1. Using paper folders, envelope inserters, and paper binding equipment to provide high quality documents to customers.
2. Providing additional support to campuses Departments as available and when needed.
3. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1. Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
2. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills
3. Demonstrated supervising and/or management experience
4. Demonstrated experience with invoicing and billing as well as tracking income and expenses
5. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1. Demonstrated experience with copy machines and other office equipment
2. Demonstrated experience with Pitney Bows Connect + mail machines
3. Demonstrated experience with paper binding equipment
4. Demonstrated experience with large format printers and vinyl cutters
5. Demonstrated experience with Banner
6. Demonstrated experience in the Printing or Graphic Design Field.
7. Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite

3. Ability to complete emergent tasks under tight deadlines.

Special Requirements
Physical Demands

11. Must be able to stand for moderate periods; exposure to constant noise from machinery; exposure to irritants and caustic chemicals such as dust toners, grease, ink, and solvents. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
