Brief Position Overview

Media Reprographics Center (MRC) provides copying and media reproduction services such as vinyl signs and large format printing to faculty, staff, and students. Work is accepted from university departments or related organizations on campus and from recognized student organizations. Primary goal is to produce highest quality products in a timely fashion.
Media Reprographics also administers the mail room on campus. The department sends out packages, flats and letters through the United States Postal Service. They also process bulk mail, manage mail reports, and recharge postage costs to the appropriate department.

Position Details

General Statement

Media Reprographics Center (MRC) provides copying and media reproduction services such as vinyl signs and large format printing to faculty, staff, and students. Work is accepted from university departments or related organizations on campus and from recognized student organizations. Primary goal is to produce highest quality products in a timely fashion.
Media Reprographics also administers the mail room on campus. The department sends out packages, flats and letters through the United States Postal Service. They also process bulk mail, manage mail reports, and recharge postage costs to the appropriate department.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Automated Duplicating/Job Management: Responsible for performing a variety of electronic, and offset document printing, reproduction services, large format printing, cutting, weeding and installing vinyl signs. Estimate job costs and time requirements for projects and computer project work orders.
2. Administrative/Financial: Collect, review, and prepare monthly invoices for billing as a result of Smart Card printing, and /or MRC services received. Handle money received ensuring security and deposit to the business office in a timely manner.
3. Ensure that stock and equipment are inventoried annually, and secured. Maintain files and records for department as needed or required.
4. Collect bids and order equipment and supplies as needed.
5. Schedule employees and provide training to employees on the use of technical equipment and troubleshooting as needed. Supervising student workers.
6. Identify equipment in need of repair or replacement.
7. Ensure that stock and equipment are inventoried annually.
8. Mailroom services including sorting mail, delivering to mailboxes, process postage, campus mail, mail machines.
9. Bulk mailing for all departments
10. Graphic design services for small jobs such as post cards as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office programs in order to trouble shoot issues with print requests
11. Provide excellent customer service to Faculty, Staff, and Students

Secondary duties assigned to this position:
1. Using paper folders, envelope inserters, and paper binding equipment to provide high quality documents to customers.
2. Providing additional support to campuses Departments as available and when needed.
3. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1. Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
2. Experience with invoicing and billing as well as tracking income and expenses
3. Supervising and/or management experience
4. Experience with Microsoft Office
5. Experience with deadlines and Project Management
6. Exceptional customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1. Experience with copy machines and other office equipment
2. Experience with Pitney Bows Connect + mail machines
3. Experience with paper binding equipment
4. Experience with large format printers and vinyl cutters
5. Experience with Banner
6. Experience in the Printing or Graphic Design Field.
7. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

The Successful Candidate Will

1. Multitasking
2. Working under time constraints in high stress situations
3. Ability to complete tasks under deadlines

Special Requirements
Physical Demands

1. Must be able to stand for long periods; exposure to constant loud noise from machinery; exposure to irritants and caustic chemicals such as dust toners, grease, ink, and solvents. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
